Still in Campbell River this morning - the weather both here and on the west coast is distinctly soggy once again. There is about 25mm predicted out there for today but clearing tomorrow morning and becoming sunny with light winds for the rest of the week. Sounds much better to wait another day - I guess that's the difference between a holiday and an expedition! :) There's not any real pressure to be somewhere.
Plenty to do here in town - museum, maybe a walk or read (now if I can just get my eREader back off Neil...), or just admire the view emerging from the misty rain - the water flows one way then turns around and flows the other. At full tidal flow some of the little boats struggle to make headway (it's a 12m tidal range this morning).
We had a restful day - went out to the Museum before lunch - good First Nations and 1800/1900's historical displays. We also went out to dinner at Quay West next to the marina - the Dungness Crab Dinner was excellent.
This is what the crabs look like before they become dinner - bit smaller than a mud crab |
