One of our regular paddles is a social "coffee paddle" from Williamstown at the top of Port Phillip Bay. This is a very leisurely paddle, usually a gentle hour's paddle over to Altona for a coffee and bakery snacks or second breakfast. The bakery indulgence is usually of similar duration as the paddle!
This paddle is aimed at introducing new members to the club and acts as a social get-together for any of the members who like a (usually) easy morning on the water. When we get back to Williamstown we usually do some skills training - rescues, rolls, stroke skills. Lunch out may follow (bit of a food theme happening!) but this Sunday we stayed a bit longer on the water then departed.
Williamstown can be a bit blowy but so far this year it's been pretty quiet and the numbers coming on the paddles have been quite high. On Sunday there were 13 paddlers and the previous month 21.
We also took the opportunity to try out our new video camera ...
